Alyson James's favorite way to cook a deer roast.

The roast takes some time to cook, but it's worth the wait. Delicious! -- Alyson James

Ingredients

Prep a deer roast by washing it thoroughly and removing as much of the excess fat as possible. Dry with paper towels. Rub down with Dale's Seasoning, then sprinkle with the Tony Chachere seasoning.

Place the roast in a large brown paper bag and place on a flat roasting pan. Cook at 425 degrees F. for 1 hour and then lower the heat to 200 degrees F. to slow cook through the night or no less than 5 hours (smaller roast may take less time).

It's the best! -- Alyson

I've had someone ask where to get Dale's Seasoning. You can usually get it at your grocery store, but if you can't find it there, you can get it from Amazon.com or the Dale's Seasoning website.
