Venison Cubed Steak

Virginia Ewton's Homestyle Favorite

This is my favorite deer cubed steak. Crispy browned steaks smothered in brown gravy satisfies my family every time. -- Virginia Ewton

Ingredients

Start by mixing together the flour, salt and pepper in a dish. Lightly roll the cubed steaks in the flour until just coated.

Fill a frying pan large enough to hold the cubed steaks with the vegetable oil and after the oil is hot (about 360 degrees F.) add the floured cubed steaks. Fry venison until browned.

Remove the steaks to a plate and drain off the fat from the skillet. Mix gravy mixes together following package directions and then add back the venison cubed steaks. Pour gravy mix over steaks, covering all the steaks. Simmer for 15 minutes.

Serves 4 to 6.

If you decide to leave off the gravy, these steaks are delicious with steak sauce. -- Virginia
