Deer Tenderloin

Virginia Ewton's good ol' country-fried deer tenderloin, a family favorite

Sometimes I'm just in the mood for good old-fashioned country food. -- Virginia Ewton

Ingredients

Start by sprinkling the meat tenderizer on the slices of deer tenderloin. Set aside.

Heat oil until hot (about 360 degrees F.)

Mix together the flour, salt, and black pepper in a plate. Lightly coat the deer tenderloin pieces in the flour mixture, and then carefully add the tenderloin to the frying pan.

Fry until browned on both sides. Be careful not to overcook the meat. After removing the tenderloin, pat off any excess oil with clean paper towels.

This goes great with mashed potatoes and gravy, garden-fresh sliced tomatoes and pinto beans. -- Virginia
